Heineiken spends 185 million USD to invest in expanding the capacity of the brewery in Vung Tau

Heineken Vietnam-Vung Tau Brewery Co., Ltd. with the project to expand the brewery with a capacity of 610 million liters/year in My Xuan A Industrial Park, the total investment capital increased by 185 million USD has been officially awarded an investment certificate by the People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.

Along with Heineiken’s project, 7 other projects have also received Investment Certificates in Vung Tau.

The receipt of the Investment Certificate for this expansion project reflects Heineiken’s previous commitments.

In July 2016, Heineken Vietnam completed the acquisition of Carlsberg Vietnam’s old production line in Vung Tau and plans to increase beer production in Ba Ria – Vung Tau from 50 million liters to 610 million liters per year.

Heineken Vietnam was formerly known as Vietnam Brewery Co., Ltd. In August 2016, Vietnam Brewery Co., Ltd. announced to change its name to Heineken Vietnam Brewery Co., Ltd.

This unit previously managed and operated 5 breweries across the country, mainly producing beer lines such as Heineken, Tiger, Larue, Bibina, BGI, etc.

According to Euromonitor data, more than 80% of the market share of the entire Vietnamese beer market is currently in the hands of 3 enterprises, Sabeco, Heineken and Habeco.
