Commencement of construction of JA Solar Vietnam Solar Power Plant with a capital of more than 1 billion USD in Bac Giang

On November 27, the Solar Cell Factory Project of JA Solar Vietnam Co., Ltd. with a total investment of more than 1 billion USD officially started construction in Viet Yen District Industrial Park, Bac Giang Province.

The project with a scale of 88 hectares of land in Quang Chau Industrial Park will be a solar cell production project, a trend of using high technology to save natural resources, taking advantage of available solar energy sources for development investment will also contribute to creating added value for the Vietnamese economy.

According to the original plan, JA Solar Group planned to invest only 320 million USD in the solar cell production project in Bac Giang, but after conducting research, this group decided to increase the investment to more than 1 billion USD.

At a meeting with leaders of Bac Giang province in July, Mr. Jin Bao Fang – Chairman of JA Solar said that this investment project of the group in Vietnam will definitely be successful. At the same time, the Chairman of JA Solar Group also affirmed that he will invest and operate the factory to become a typical example in the solar cell manufacturing industry.

According to the Chairman of JA Solar, the group considers the factory in Vietnam as a dual market, a module and battery production base, to meet the company’s overall strategy and plan for long-term demand.

Previously, on July 11, 2016, at the Office of Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee, the signing ceremony of the Land Sublease Contract in Quang Chau Industrial Park took place between Saigon – Bac Giang Industrial Park Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as SBG, is the investor of Quang Chau Industrial Park, also a subsidiary of KBC) and JA Solar Hongkong Investment Company. Accordingly, JA Solar will lease 88 hectares in KBC’s Quang Chau Industrial Park to invest in a solar cell production project with a total investment of more than 1 billion USD.
